Q. Is this a credit card?
A. No, it's a UNC One Card combined with a Wells Fargo Check Card. The Visa® symbol just means that you can use it everywhere that takes Visa.
Q. How does the card work?
A. Use the new One Card Plus on campus and it works exactly like your regular One Card - your purchases draw funds from your UNC expense account. Use it off-campus wherever you
use a Visa card, and it works like a check card - your purchases draw funds from your
Wells Fargo Student Checking account.
Q. Why would I need this?
A. All your financial needs are handled with one card that works on campus as well as all over the world. It's easier for your parents to help you, too. They can simply make a deposit into your Student Checking account at any North Carolina Wells Fargo branch and you can access it no matter where you are.
Q. How are the two accounts funded?
A. You can fund your UNC One Card expense account through any of the 6 Tar Heel Tellers on campus, at the One Card Office or online. The check card is funded by making deposits into your Wells Fargo Student Checking account.
Q. Will the One Card office charge a fee to issue my One Card Plus?
A. No, your first One Card Plus is issued at no charge.
Q. What if my card is lost or stolen?
A. First, don't worry. If your linked One Card is lost or stolen, you must notify the One Card Office and Wells Fargo (1-800-869-3557) as soon as possible.
Q. How do I get the One Card Plus?
A. Just bring your old UNC One Card by the One Card Office to trade in between 8:00 - 4:00, Monday through Friday. You will need to bring proof of your Wells Fargo account (checkbook, atm or checkcard, or new account form). It's that easy!
